Your New York City Theater District Hotel
Midtown Manhattan is home to the World Famous Theater District, often called "The Great White Way", in reference to the brilliant glow of the white lights used by theaters to illuminate their signs. Extending roughly from 40th Street to 54th Street, and from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue, the majority of Broadway theaters can be found here.
The relocation of the Metropolitan Opera House to 39th and Broadway in 1883 sparked the attraction of theaters and restaurants to the area. Now there are approximately 40 theaters in the district, many of which host world famous productions nightly. To complement the theaters, this tiny sliver of Manhattan is also home to many movie theaters, restaurants, hotels, and various other entertainment venues. The place to be for dinner and a show.
Experience the Theatre District, and make your visit to New York City complete!
